Web design once was a hobby.  In college, the Internet was relatively new, providing a challenge.  It was a way my friends across the country could see something I created.  My first site consisted of some personal information, a Hagar the Horrible comic strip, and a list of bands I enjoyed. 

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

While I was thus far unable to find the old strip, most of my sites today reflect that attitude.  I’ve grown up with creating web pages and desing, and still enjoy it today.  I am currently working on turning it into a side business, and have been quite successful.  Outside the Brain Studio provides web design, writing, and Internet marketing, along with whatever else clients may request. 

I've created a number of websites for my current position at Beloit Daily News.  BDNConnection is our staff blog site built on Wordpress.  I designed our Stateline Business website and decided to use a commercial vendor solution for the backend.  Stateline Moms is our most recent site, setup on the Joomla framework.  I also have extensive experience in Drupal through my work with Dane101.com.
